Sometimes people aren’t sure what to pay on the sliding scale, and I get it! A sliding scale isn’t something most of us encounter on a daily basis. If you’ve ever questioned what you should pay, or if you want to know more about the reasoning behind it, this post is for you!
The purpose of the sliding scale is to make acupuncture accessible and affordable to a wide range of people. Acupuncture can be a wonderful tool to improve your health and well-being, but only if you can afford to get it regularly. Most people can’t afford to pay private-room rates, which are often well over $100 per visit, on a regular basis- and that’s where community clinics like mine come in.
The goal of my clinic is to make sure you can get as much treatment as you need to feel better. I have a suggested sliding scale (currently $30 – $55) because people need some kind of guideline, and I need to keep my average in that range to pay myself and keep the clinic up and running. But there are always some folks who pay below the bottom end of the scale, and some who pay above the top end- and wherever you fall, I value your presence and want you to come in for treatment whenever you want to.
So the bottom line is, pay whatever is affordable for you to come often enough to see results. The amount that you pay does not change the treatment you receive. You don’t need to justify or explain your payment amount. I want you to feel better, and then tell everyone you know that acupuncture works!
