My favorite Superfood- now in stock!

blueiceroyalGood news- my favorite Superfood Supplement is now in stock at EDCA!  I’m not a huge fan of most supplements- in fact, I believe that low quality, synthetic vitamins often do more harm than good.  The human body is designed to extract the nutrients it needs from foods, not pills.  The problem is that most of us don’t always eat the types of nutrient-dense foods our bodies need for optimal function.  In fact, the most nutrient-dense foods, like organ meats, are rarely consumed in the modern American diet.  Enter the Superfood supplement- a convenient way to get the benefits of Superfoods like liver into your diet without actually having to prepare and eat liver.  And because it actually IS a food, your body can recognize and absorb the nutrients far more effectively than with conventional, synthetic supplements.

So here it is- my favorite Superfood Supplement: Green Pasture Royal Butter Oil/ Fermented Cod Liver Oil Blend.  Cod liver oil is an incredibly rich source of vitamins A and D, which are very often deficient among modern Americans, along with a wide range of naturally-occurring Omega-3, 6 & 9  fatty acids including EPA & DHA.  The fermentation of the cod liver oil is a traditional method of preparation that makes the nutrients more digestible and available.  This blend also contains butter oil, which provides Vitamin K-2, another commonly deficient nutrient that allows your body to better process and absorb the whole range of wonderful nutrients in the cod liver oil.

FCLO comes in a gel form; I stock two flavors, chocolate and cinnamon.  Some people love the taste and some can’t stand it- for those who can’t stand it I also stock capsules, though it’s quite a bit more expensive to get the same dosage in using the capsules.  My three-year-old loves the gels and would eat the whole jar if I would let him.  I’m offering the gels and the capsules for $40 including sales tax.  A bottle of gel will last about 45 days, so that’s just under $1/day.  A bottle of capsules will last about 20 days, or $2/day.

I would recommend Fermented Cod Liver Oil to just about anybody, but if you are taking blood-thinning medication like coumadin or warfarin you should check with your doctor, as using cod liver oil may reduce the amount of medication you should take.
